Stress Reducing Tools
The folks at UCLA created the center for Child Anxiety, Resilience, Education, and Support (CARES). This center equips families with amazing resources connected to helping children with stress & anxiety.
Among the amazing resources offered by UCLA CARES is the Feeling Thermometer. They recommend families put this on their fridge at home. Family members can then mark where they are at regarding their emotions throughout the day. Showing children that even adults get uncomfortable and deal with “red temperatures” is an important part of developing strong emotional regulation.
Creating a Visual Culture of Support
